Wanted Posters

Posted in Design, Kids, Photography on July 27th, 2007

The time has come once again for VBS portraits. This year I shot over 225 portraits, which included all of the staff and kids present during the first three nights of VBS.

The idea was to design a wanted poster that would work with the Avalanche Ranch theme. It was a lot more ambitious than last year’s mere 58 portraits. There was also quite a bit more design time and post processing this time but Photoshop’s actions and batch automation took the edge off of repetitive parts. The final images were printed 4×6 at a local 1-hour lab and sent home with the kids on the fourth night.

Below are some of my favorites. If you would like additional copies of your child’s wanted poster, please contact Mindi at the church office.

I made this animation back in 1999 for a trade show video using 3D Studio MAX. The animation was used in the beginning of a promo video to introduce the “birth” of a product. I remember this being a very fun project and decided to make it the first entry in the “Blast From the Past” category.

Nathan & Jessica

Congratulations Nathan and Jessica!

What a beautiful wedding! Tanya and I really enjoyed spending the day with you both and capturing the moments. Enjoy the images; I hope they allow you to relive the day. It goes by so fast and it is hard to absorb it all as it is happening.

I could tell from the toasts that you two have impacted a lot of lives in the past and I’m sure it will only be multiplied now that you are together. This is only the beginning, imagine the possibilities.

Below are some of my favorite images. A larger and more complete gallery is available here.

If you are a friend or family of the bride and groom, please leave a comment for them below.
